Conference summary: The conference will showcase the full breadth of toxinology research, bringing together both leading and emerging scientists from around the world. Our agenda spans fundamental science, clinical innovation, and ecological insight, with a strong emphasis on originality and inclusivity. This diverse and dynamic programme promises to spark collaboration, challenge assumptions, and advance the frontiers of toxinology.
Our key priority scientific areas for this meeting include:
- Snake venom/antivenom
pharmacokinetics and dynamics and their applicability to snakebite diagnostics - New techniques for analysing venoms and antidotes (venomics, antivenomics)
- Clinical toxinology: novel treatments for victims of envenoming (small molecular weight venom enzyme inhibitors and novel antivenom designs)
- Biological interface: evolution of venoms; new venomous taxa; habits of venomous animals that bring them into contact with humans; conservation of toxifauna and toxiflora
- Neuropharmacology and neurophysiology
- Plant toxins
- Bacterial toxins
Get involved in shaping the conference agenda: We warmly invite the global toxinology community to help shape the scientific programme of this conference, whether or not you plan to attend.
We welcome proposals for:
- Agenda topics
- Keynote speakers
- Session speakers
We especially encourage early-career researchers – including final-year PhD students, postdocs, and junior group leaders – to take the lead in organizing regional (e.g., African, Asian, South American) and international ECR symposia on topics that inspire them. Proponents will be responsible for securing any necessary funding or sponsorship for their sessions.
This is a valuable opportunity to contribute to a diverse, inclusive, and forward-thinking programme. Let’s build it together.
