Getting to Oxford

Oxford is centrally located with excellent rail, road, and coach links across the UK, and is easily accessible from major international airports including Heathrow, Gatwick, and Stansted – making travel simple from Europe, the Americas, and beyond.

Located in the heart of Oxford, the College entrance is just off the High Street on Queen’s Lane.

By car

St Edmund Hall does not offer visitor parking. We recommend using Oxford’s Park & Ride services, which operate from five car parks around the city. Further information about Park & Ride car parks is available on the City of Oxford website.

By coach

Oxford Tube (operated by Stagecoach – recommended for London) runs frequent services from London Victoria to Oxford, stopping at several pick-up points in London.

For visitors from overseas, the Airline bus service (recommended for Heathrow and Gatwick) offers frequent coach services from London Heathrow and London Gatwick airports.

Tickets are flexible and can be bought from the driver for both services.

Ask the driver to drop you at Queen’s Lane/High Street, directly opposite the College.

Several other airports and the rest of the UK are well-served by National Express coach service, which operates from Gloucester Green Coach Station (about 10-12 minutes’ walk from the College)

By train

Oxford is served by two train stations: Oxford Station and Oxford Parkway, offering direct rail links to London, Birmingham, Manchester, and other major UK cities.

• Oxford Station is located closer to the city centre and is approximately a 15–20 minute walk to the conference venue at St Edmund Hall.
• Oxford Parkway is situated further out and requires a taxi or Park & Ride bus service to reach the city centre.
